Reclaiming Winnipeg’s place in the history of Vaudeville, Va-Va-Va-Vaudeville! featuring Vic Vesuvio and the Vaudeville Vixens is sure to delight adult audiences from October 16-18, 2009, 8pm at the Ellice Theatre, 585 Ellice Avenue, Winnipeg, with an eclectic two-act performance.

Va-Va-Va-Vaudeville! is the brainchild of three Winnipeg multi-media artists – Aliza Amihude, Kami Desilets, and Keri-lee Smith, all who produced, wrote, and will perform original pieces, supported by guest emcee Cory Wojcik, and performance artists, Connie Rodrigues and Atom Dzaman.

These three October performances are the first in a series of Va-Va-Va-Vaudeville! shows that will run every four months, created to provide a medium for Manitoba performance artists to showcase their own original work. The 2010 shows will feature a different guest emcee, more original material, and different supporting actors and acts, except for our three Vixens, Amihude, Desilets, and Smith.

Tara Davis intimately blends a variety of textures and colours to create multi-media pieces and wearable scarves. She inherits, finds or otherwise acquires her materials from different times, places, and people. Each medium carries its own history and story. As Tara weaves together these assorted findings, she, therefore, mixes past with present, old with new, fact with fiction and encourages viewers and wearers to question their stories in the midst of these opposing yet complementary forces.
